Basement Bath

The shower is set in place and ready for the plumber. I decided to hire a real plumber for solder fittings and plastic peck connections. I know the difference between efficiency and twenty trips to town for the right parts.

The wireing was completed this morning. The lights and fan work with the right switches. No Sparks!!!

Well I better read my how to drywall book.

Second thought, it's a good time to take a break and head to Overland Park. I'm sure the boss will approve.

Project Update

The walls are up and the shower pan and drain are in place. I hope I don't have to move that door again. Yea, I guess it will swing in now and still have room for light switches in a more traditional location. The next move is to rough in the electrical components for the outlets, fan and lighting. Then some more plumbing. Well mabe the flooring. Or maybe the sheetrock.

Decisions are more or less hour to hour and day to day depending on choice of trade, labor grade or payscale I feel like persuing at the moment.

Well now you know why it takes a whole week to progress so little. It sure is enjoyable to work at my own pace and leisure.

I have a great boss!!! She is so encouraging and even furnishes hot meals and clean clothes.

Well I have to go I have a meeting with my consultant and architech.

Brooke note the new lumber. He! He!

New Project

Note the cupboards are gone and the mess cleaned up
Eventually this will be a much needed bath in the basement. It just dawned on us, after raising five children and now expecting our tenth grandchild, we could use the extra capacity.

Is this Indian summer?

I can't believe how nice is it, but we sure are not complaining. Seems more like October than November. They have started combining corn now and got the beans out last night.
Glad to see the farmers working in the fields again. Sure feel for them.
Dad started chopping stalks for MBS, think he kind of likes doing that in the fall.
Dad also got a new shop door put on and a new walk-in garage door put on. They were in pretty bad shape, so should make a difference with the weather.
Can't believe how those Hawkeyes are doing, going to the game again Sat., hope they keep up the exciting plays.
Still haven' t found the wall hangings I want for the kitchen. Will keep looking.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Short fall season?

I sure hope this doesn't mean we are having a short fall season. I always enjoy the fall weather, but this fall is seems so much more cold than it has been for a while.
We have everything put away for the winter already. Even put the outdoor furniture and garden things away yesterday, usually don't put them away till the first of Nov. But the weather sure hasn't been very fall like. So might as well get things done now. Hope we have a little more nice weather before the snow starts falling.
Today a couple grandsons are staying, Jacob and Austin. Nice to have them here.
Still looking for my wall hangings for the kitchen, will blog them when I find them.
Stay warm and pray for some nicer weather so the crops can be harvested.
