Winter has come with a Bang!!!!!!!

Well, we knew it was going to come, and boy did it!!! It started snowing last night around 8 pm, kept up all
night, with the wind blowing 30-40 mph. This morning we have lots of drifts and can hardly see across the
road. Bryan did go to work at Unverferth, but not till afternoon shift, he didn't go into work at WalMart though. We went to town on Wed. and got our meds and groceries. So we are good to go. Don't plan to get out till tomorrow. In fact, we can't get out the south door, drift across it, but clear in front of the living room door.We have had 8-9 inches of snow and wind is still blowing 30-40mph yet.
Hope everyone if safe and warm.  Welcome to winter in Iowa!!!!!!!

Happenings in the family

After talking to my cousin, thought I'd better do a little blogging about the family happening.  We went to Kansas City this past week-end for the baptizim of little Beau Kennedy, it is always nice seeing the girls and baby Beau, also nice to see Jolyn and John.  It was so warm down there, 72', Jay and John went golfing in Dec. Jay had never done that before, so he was excited about that.
We had a nice Thanksgiving also, had 22 people here, such a nice day, in the upper 50's and lower 60's.
The kids played outside and had a good time.
I am just about done Christmas shopping, have the grandkids done, just got a  few other things to take care of. I like having it done early, now can enjoy other things. Want to do some baking for gifts and just to have on hand.
I will try to do a better job of blogging, Lisa!!!!  Love your blogs. Can't believe how cold it is up there. Stay warm. I am sure winter will come here also, but until it does, we will enjoy this nice weather.

Lisa, here we go again, can't write a comment on your blog, so hope you read this, your 3 boys are sooooo
cute!!!!
I always tell my girls the same thing, you will sleep in about 30 years. but if #3 is sleeping 6 hours, that is like all night.!!!!!!
Jolyn is so uncomfortable, it has been in the 100's most of July down in Kansas City, she isn't due till the end of Aug. They keep moving her date, now it is Aug. 25th.
We have averaged over 90' the month of July, it was 103' today at our house.
We spend a lot of time in the basement, much cooler down there.
Keep the blogs coming, sure enjoy them.

Just wanted to let you know I do read them, and I thought you probably read mine, so wanted to say keep up the blogs, the boys are so cute!!!!! You are one busy Mommy!!!
Our Jolyn is expecting the middle of Aug., this will be three for her also, Jackie is 4, Gwen will turn 2 on July 24th, and #3 will come in Aug.
It is soo hot here in Iowa, been in the upper 90's for many days now. The out look is in the 90's yet.
Love to all,  Cousin Sharon from Iowa

camping

This last week we spent a few days in Mason City camping at the McNider city park. It is a nice park, it wasn't crowed, so that made it even nicer. Jacob and Emma stayed over nite with us, Jaocb two nites and Emma one. Brent and Brooke came out for supper and we grilled, Wed. night, Alex and Drew came out also. Had a great time. We all had breakfast together on Thursday morning and then we packed up and headed home. We had a great time with Jacob and Emma camping, we took nature walks, went mini golfing, and they went real golfing, while Brooke and I visited.
Thanks for the nice time.

Parting Ways

Well old friend we have been together for a long time, from Alaska to Virginia, from Pennsylvania to California, through thick and thin and back again. (With no breakdowns) But the new generation has so much more to offer.

And here it is the next generation of toy hauling, camper pulling, lost inheritance son of a gun!!!!
